This training is sponsored by the California Department of Education/Child Development Division and will be conducted by the California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN)-Region 11. It is designed to benefit staff working to promote language and literacy of preschool (3-5 year olds) English Learners.
The goals of this training are as follows:
• To provide teachers with strategies for educating young English Learners and familiarize them with the research that informed those strategies
• To help teachers and administrators recognize the gifts and talents that preschool English Learners bring to their classrooms and programs
• To introduce the resource guide, “Preschool English Learners: Principles and Practices to Promote Language, Literacy, and Learning”
