ProductsTo date, the English Learning for Preschoolers Project has developed the following products for the California Department of Education: - The resource guide "Preschool English Learners: Principles and Practices to Promote Language, Literacy, and Learning". This guide is both a revision and an expansion of the earlier guide titled "Fostering the Development of a First and Second Language in Early Childhood". The new guide is currently in draft from while the pilot series of trainings is launched this Spring. The draft guide is only available to those who attend the training.
- This web site, intended to offer one more vehicle for teachers of preschool English learners to access current and relevant information and instructional practices.
- A companion video* to the above materials.
- A training manual* which contains a collection of training activities that bring to life the concepts presented in "Preschool English Learners: Principles and Practices to Promote Language, Literacy, and Learning". These activities will also be field tested as the pilot series of trainings is launched.
- One-day field trainings to be offered throughout California. Participants at these trainings will receive a copy of the approved guide. Check the web site's training calendar for an updated training schedule.
All of the above products with the exception of the training manual will be available in both English and Spanish. *These products are currently under review. |
