How it Works
READY - Login to the course of your choice.
SET - Begin the course by visiting Module 1 and ordering course materials.
GO - In the first module, you will will get instructions and a link to register for either academic credits or continuing education units (CEU) with California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) Extended Education.
START - Make your first posting to the Discussion Forum within the first week to avoid being dropped from the course.
Each module will include:
- A variety of readings—some readings will come from other web sites, others will be articles or book chapters.
- Interactive learning activities—including games, videos and practice activities
- Opportunities to connect with peers in online forums—our online learning community is an important part of our courses. Here you will be able to meet and share with a wide variety of other early childhood professionals.. Sharing with peers is one of the best ways to support your professional growth and development.
Most people like to work through a module by first doing the readings, then the practices and finally by visiting the online community to post their work. Other people might choose to focus less time on the readings and more time on the activities, or vice versa. You are invited to work the way that you learn best.
Because our courses make use of audio, video, games, quizzes and specially formatted documents, you may need some minor adjustments to your Internet Browser. Any additional software you might need can be downloaded for free. Module 1 of each course will test your system for required software, and will guide you on how to upgrade your system if needed.
